Wm Sykes & Son Sponsor AFC Emley

Wm. Sykes & Son Estate Agents and Auctioneers have extended their sponsorship deal with AFC Emley for a fourth season. The Holmfirth based company have sponsored the club since their formation in 2005.

Emley are currently in the first division of the Northern Counties East League and with the appointment of the ex Huddersfield Town and Barnsley player Ian Banks as manager they are looking to progress up the non league football pyramid.

Banks has brought in a number of new players this season to bolster the squad including most notably Holmfirth based Neil Redfearn who brings with him a wealth of experience having played in the Premiership for Barnsley and a number of other football league teams.

Rob Dixon, sales manager at Wm. Sykes & Son commented “I was a big fan of the original Emley FC but like many of the fans became disillusioned when the club relocated to Wakefield. When I heard that the new club was being formed by the supporters I was keen to get involved and sponsoring the clubs shirts was a great opportunity for us. Seeing the progress being made by the club both on and off the field we were more than happy to extend our sponsorship for a further season.”

The club are in action this Saturday (23rd August) at Rainworth MW and their first home league fixture is on Wednesday 27th August against Grimsby Borough.
